Mad Mackerel Recommends…The Wilderness Of Manitoba

The Wilderness Of Manitoba are, as you might expect, from Canada. Their 2009 EP Hymns To Love And Spirits showcased a folk band of the most intimate and gorgeous kind and they now have a full length due out on the 22nd June called When You Left The Fire.

The new album has a fuller sound, but has sacrificed none of what made the EP so special. The haunting guitar lines, beautiful harmonies and imagination are all still there, but this time the band are sounding more assured and confident and it is easy to let yourself be swept up and carried away by them.

Check out this taster from the album, and one from the previous EP – you won’t be disappointed.
