Mrs Mackerel’s TFI Friday (24th June)

What’s in a name? MM and I have been enjoying the new series of Luther with the rather magnificent Idris Elba. We’ve also been quite enjoying the music that goes with it. Bit of Massive Attack. Bit of Joan As Policewoman – speaking of which, do you think she has days when she feels a bit Joan As Saleswoman, or Joan As Veterinary Surgeon; Joan As Shopkeeper. Perhaps she’s really Mr Benn.

Anyway, back to Luther and clown masks, and the rather sinister variety sported by the villain of the piece. MM has been having great fun all week at my expense and a little at the expense of Polly Pocket. He ought to know by now that he’s playing with fire.

More clown news. We’re off to the Gifford’s Circus tomorrow en masse. Hopefully no psychotic clowns. I see enough of them on the school run. Maybe a few horses, a little bit of high wire. Roll up, roll up. Jollity and no innocent animals harmed in the making of this circus sort of thing.

Today I had a blood test. Perhaps I have clown’s disease. Made a right mess of my vein, nicely bruised and all that. At least I can tell the mackerel sprats that Mama could never have been an intravenous drug user. There’s a bright side to everything if you look for it.

Boo!
