Sonic carnage is indeed an appropriate way to describe the raw and raucous punk inflected garage rock of The Hussy. They memorably describe it as “bash-em-up-spit-em-out garage-trash for short attention spans“.
Their new album is Weed Seizure out on March 20th via Tic Tac Totally and follows the release of their long sold-out debut Cement Tomb Mind Control. Like a flick-knife in a crowded flophouse these songs come out of the darkness at you with a ferocity and a viciousness to them that is impossible to avoid and pointless to deflect. Instead, succumb to the visceral howl and pneumatic rhythms of the assault and let the short, sharp shock of Weed Seizure thrill you to your core.
The Hussy have been really busy cooking up a storm. As well as the album they also have two brand new 7″s on Italy’s Goodbye Boozy (Home to Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin, BBQ) and Eradicator Records available now. These are the band’s fourth and fifth 7″s. Two more 7″s will follow their Midwest/East Coast Tour (dates below) on Evil Weevil Records and Slovenly’s subsidiary Black Gladiator. Expect those in May or June.
